Yearbook preorders are going on right now. One-third of the anticipated inventory has already been sold. Reserve a copy today. Submit a completed order form and check payable to Lifetouch for $20.00. Any questions, contact Julie Saylor at jsaylor@verizon.net


Boosterthon’s EPIC Adventure is coming to Dranesville June 6th. Since 2001, the Boosterthon Fun Run team has been serving schools across America, providing a fun, healthy alternative fundraisers. Local schools who have participated in Boosterthon include, London Towne, Fox Mill, and Floris. The EPIC theme is all about TEAMWORK and is an acronym with each letter representing an Adventure Action.

Students will learn four specific ways to be a great teammate:

E- Encourage

P- Play

I- Invite

C- Celebrate

This is an all –inclusive event and takes place during the school day. With the Boosterthon Fun Run, there is nothing to sell and no door-to-door. By gathering pledges from friends and family students help their school. Each student, regardless if they can or cannot financially contribute, will receive a FREE t-shirt for participating in the event itself. Kim Cash is in need of 4 volunteers on June 6th to assist the Boosterthon team. Please contact Kim at kimcash@verizon.net, if you have any questions or you are available on the day of the event. The last Spirit Night of the school year will take place on May 23rd at Chick-Fil-A from 5-8 p.m.. Please remember to tell them you are with DES.


The next and last PTA meeting for the 2011-2012 school year will take place on June 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the DES library.

Welcome to the Dranesville PTA's website. The purpose of the PTA is to promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship; raise the standards of home life; secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth; bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth; and develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

The Herndon Festival is coming from May 31 - June 3rd and DES PTA is conducting Advanced Purchase Ticket sales for the Carnival Rides only.  This includes the “unlimited rides on Thursday night only” wristband for the low price of $16.00 as well as ride tickets valid all 4 days.  A portion of all pre-sales benefits DES PTA.
